Design Description

Obverse:
IMP CAESAR TRAIAN HADRIANVS AVGLaureate bust of Hadrian facing right. On this particular specimen, there is a visible fold of drapery sitting on the far (left) shoulder.
The portrait displays strong Roman high-relief style with cleanly detailed curls in the hair and beard.

Reverse:
P M TR P COS IIIMinerva Promachus advancing right, brandishing a spear (or javelin) in her raised right hand and holding a rounded shield (ancile) on her left arm. She is wearing a crested helmet and a long, flowing chiton with an aegis draped over her chest and back.
