Beautiful French Art Deco Gilt Bronze Prize Medal — Diana the Huntress by Robert Cochet

French Art Deco prize medal featuring a magnificent profile portrait of Diana the Huntress (*Diane chasseresse*). Strikingly struck in gilt bronze (*bronze doré*), this piece perfectly captures the bold geometric elegance of the interwar Parisian avant-garde.

Obverse : Features a sharp, high-relief profile of the Roman goddess Diana facing left, adorned with a crescent moon in her hair. She holds a hunting bow in her left hand, with a beautifully stylized stag by her side. Signed **R.Cochet** on the obverse edge.

Reverse : Features a blank central circular cartouche framed by an Art Deco geometric wheel with panels of stylized classical foliage (laurel, oak, and palm). **The central field remains completely unawarded and unengraved.

Sculptor:** Signed **"R.Cochet sculpsit"** on the reverse rim. Designed by Robert Cochet (1903–1988), a highly prominent French medalist who later designed several of France's circulating coins.

Incised on the reverse edge: **"CFA J. D'ESTRAY — 4 rue Greffulhe, Paris"** (*Compagnie Française d'Art J. d'Estray*).
