Obverse: Laureate head of a bearded Commodus right, showing his characteristic sole-reign portrait style. Traces of imperial legend visible along the left edge.

Reverse: Salus standing left, holding a patera from which she feeds a serpent rising from a lighted altar to the left. She holds a long sceptre/staff in her left hand. The large, clear C visible in the right field is the right-hand portion of the central S — C (Senatus Consulto) mark.
