1887 Queen Victoria "Young Head" Silver Shilling - Choice EF/AU with Stunning Cabinet Toning

Up for auction is a magnificent, highly choice example of the **1887 Queen Victoria "Young Head" Silver Shilling**.

While 1887 is best known as the introduction year for Joseph Edgar Boehm's "Jubilee Head" portrait, a limited number of shillings were struck early in the year utilizing William Wyon's legendary "Young Head" design. This coin stands as the definitive **final year of issue** for this iconic, 50-year-long design type, making it an essential and highly sought-after piece for British type collectors.

Strong **Extremely Fine (EF) to About Uncirculated (AU)** condition.

Obverse Detail:** Incredibly crisp hair details. Minimal wear on the double fillet, the braids of the bun, and the strands above the ear, with next to no flattening on the facial contours.

Reverse Detail:** Exceptional definition. The pearls on the arches of the imperial crown and the central cross-patée remain completely distinct. The delicate veins of the olive and oak leaves show pristine high-point preservation.
