1811 Worcester County & City Silver Shilling Token - Dalton 1

1811 Worcester County & City Silver Shilling Trade Token. These were issued during the Napoleonic Wars due to a national silver shortage.

• Obverse: Features the Worcester City Coat of Arms (Castle Shield) with the legend "WORCESTER COUNTY & CITY TOKEN".

• Reverse: Features an oak wreath with "VALUE ONE SHILL" and the motto "TO FACILITATE TRADE 1811".

• Condition: Strong details on the oak leaves and shield. Features a gorgeous natural dark patina with some underlying luster. No major scratches or rim dings. Reference: Dalton #1.

Lustre & Toning: It has a deep, original patina with subtle iridescent "rainbow" toning.

Integrity: It has NOT been cleaned, dipped, or polished, retaining its historical surface integrity.

Details: The lettering is crisp, and the edge milling is distinct.
