Superb Roman Bronze Follis of Emperor Maximian – Ex TimeLine Auctions
Roman Imperial bronze follis (nummus) struck under Emperor Maximian (r. 286–305 AD) during the First Tetrarchy. This coin features a striking, high-relief portrait with excellent centering, clear legends, and an appealing dark chocolate-brown patina.

Obverse IMP C M A MAXIMIANVS P F AVG (*Imperator Caesar Marcus Aurelius Maximianus Pius Felix Augustus*). Laureate head right, showcasing a muscular, powerful Tetrarchic "bull-neck" portrait style with crisp hair and wreath details.
Reverse GENIO POPVLI ROMANI (*To the Genius of the Roman People*). Genius, the protective spirit of Rome, standing left, naked except for a chlamys (cloak) draped over his left shoulder. He wears a modius on his head and holds a patera (libation bowl) and a cornucopia (horn of plenty).
