An attractive, well-centered ancient Roman silver denarius struck under the authority of Julia Mamaea, mother of the Emperor Severus Alexander. This specimen features excellent obverse portrait detail and a beautifully preserved narrative reverse scene

* **Obverse Description:** Diademed (*stephane*) and draped bust of Julia Mamaea facing right. Displays highly defined hair braiding and sharp facial profile lines.

* **Reverse Legend:** `FECVND AVGVSTAE` (The Fertility of the Empress)

Reverse Description:** Fecunditas (goddess of fertility) seated left on a high-backed chair, extending her right hand toward a small child standing to the left who is reaching up toward her; she rests her left arm casually on the armrest.


* Struck on a sturdy, honest 2.75g silver flan. Well-centered on both sides with complete legends. Features typical minor ancient edge stress fractures from the striking process that do not affect the integrity of the coin.
