Edward I (1272–1307) Hammered Silver Long Cross Penny Class 9b — Star on Breast — Bristol Mint

An attractive medieval silver penny from the provincial mint of Bristol, struck c. 1299–1301. This coin is securely attributed to Class 9b, defined by the distinctive diagnostic star visible on the King's breast.

  • Obverse Description: Crowned facing bust within a beaded circle, star visible on the chest drapery. Legend: ✚ EDW R ANGL DNS HYB with characteristic late 13th-century unbarred 'N's (rendered as II).
