King Edward I silver Irish halfpenny, struck at the Waterford Mint during his second coinage series (circa 1279–1284).
This piece displays remarkably sharp, bold central details for an Irish hammered fraction. The obverse features the iconic crowned facing bust within an inverted triangle, showing a crisp crown and easily readable text. The key identifying prefix pellet preceding the "EDW" legend is clearly visible.
The reverse features a well-defined long cross with distinct, crisp triplets of pellets in each quarter. The Waterford mint signature "CIVI TAS VATE RFOR" remains mostly legible along the perimeter.
