Authentic Ancient Roman Bronze Centenionalis — Emperor Constantius II (AD 337–361)

Up for auction/sale is a genuine, historically significant mid-4th-century Roman bronze coin struck at the important military powerhouse mint of Siscia. Featuring the famous and highly collectable "Fallen Horseman" reverse design, this specimen boasts an attractive, authentic dark green/brown soil patina with deep, natural surfaces.

Coin Details:

• Obverse ( Pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Constantius II facing right. The left-hand portion of the legend is exceptionally crisp and highly legible, reading clearly: D N CONSTAN-TIVS P F AVG (Dominus Noster Constantius Pius Felix Augustus).

•  The iconic FEL TEMP REPARATIO ("The Restoration of Happy Times") allegorical type. It depicts a helmeted Roman soldier lunging left, bearing a shield, and fiercely impaling an enemy barbarian horseman who is falling from his collapsing steed. The letters FEL TE- are clearly struck along the left-hand border.
