Charles II (1660-1685) Hammered Silver Twopence (Halfgroat) - Third Coinage, Spink 3326

An exceptionally sharp and attractive example of a Charles II hammered twopence, struck during the transitional Third Coinage period (1660–1662) featuring both the inner beaded circles and the Roman numeral denomination "II" behind the bust.

  • Obverse : Crowned, left-facing bust of Charles II with crisp hair detail and a bold IIvalue mark. Full, readable legend: CAROLVS II D G MAG BRIT FRAN ET HIB REX.

  • Reverse : Long cross fourchée over royal shield of arms. Well-struck, clean shield details with full legend: CHRISTO AVSPICE REGNO.

  • Mintmark: Crown (visible on both sides).
